DESCRIPTION:This annual build brings together women from across Houston to take part in creating a home for a future woman homeowner. Women and children represent the heart of our communities\, yet they are often the most impacted by unsafe or unstable housing. Today\, women continue to make up the majority of Houston Habitat homeowners   more than 70% in over the years   highlighting both the need and the opportunity to support women on the path to a brighter future for their families. We believe that everyone\, regardless of background or gender\, deserves access to a safe\, affordable place to call home\, one that supports stability\, opportunity\, and quality of life. Together\, we shine a light on the affordable housing challenges facing women and children locally and across the country. Taking place during Women's History Month\, each Friday and Saturday in March\, Houston Habitat staff will lead volunteer teams comprised of community supporters\, companies and organizations to build a home from the ground up\, demonstrating what's possible when women lead\, and communities come together. Gexa Energy\, which strongly believes in volunteerism and charitable giving\, is the Presenting sponsor of the 2026 Women Build. We invite our friends and supporters to join us in fully funding a home for a future woman homeowner. By participating in Women Build 2026\, you're not just investing in affordable housing for women   you're helping to create strong\, thriving communities that will empower generations to come.
